Art Show: Sat. July 11th 8:00-4:00 p.m. (Firehouse Art Center)
Awards Ceremony: 3:00 p.m. at the Firehouse Art Center.
Pick-up of artwork: Show will exhibit through the month of August
Out-of-town artists and students may pick up artwork at 3:15 p.m. if preferred.
Artists’ Guidelines: Open to all artists
Novice—one who has painted less than 2 years
Student—K-12th grade
Artworks previously entered in WAA Peach Festival competitions are ineligible. All work must be original. WAA reserves the right to refuse any work deemed unsuitable. WAA requests a 20% donation on all artwork sold.
Entry Fees: $10.00 per entry (member)…or 3/$25.00
$12.00 per entry (non-members)…or 3/$30.00
$ 5.00 per entry (Students..K-12th grade)
Limit 3 entries per person
Categories:
Oil or Acrylic (works on canvas)
Watercolor (works on paper or canvas)
Graphic (pencil, pen/ink, prismacolor, pastel)
Mixed media (includes 2 or more mediums or collage)
Experimental (includes glass works, tile, painted rocks, etc.)
Photography (includes digital)
3-Dimensional (sculpture)
Novice
Students (K-12th grade)
Image size: Maximum size of entries…36 x 48" (including frame).
Frame restrictions:
No sawtooth hangers or masking tape, must have screw eyes & wire.
Plexiglass (no glass!!) is to be used on "works on paper"..watercolors, pastels, pencils, etc.
Gallery wrap is acceptable with screw eyes & wire.
Student work must be mounted on foam core or properly framed and wired for hanging.
Sculpture: Must be of lasting material and viewed from all sides. Not to exceed 35 lbs.
Awards: Cash prizes and/ or merchandise awards and ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show, Best of Students & all adult 1st Place Winners. 1st place student entries will receive merchandise awards. All 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded ribbons. Honorable Mention ribbons will be given at the judge’s discretion. Cash & prizes will total in excess of $1,100.00.
